CDMA extension welcomed by Farmers Association
The NSW Farmers’ Association has welcomed the news that Telstra will keep the CDMA network open until 28 April 2008.
NSW Farmers’ Association President Jock Laurie says he hopes the move will enable Telstra to rectify farmers’ concerns about the reliability of the Next G network.
“We have been working with Telstra Country Wide for several months now to highlight issues our members have with Next G and we will continue to do so until these problems are addressed,” Mr Laurie said.
Today’s announcement follows the release of the Association’s state wide survey showing 71% of respondents have found the CDMA network to be more reliable than the new Next G network, citing problems with in-call drop outs, handset performance, car-kit reliance, poor and unreliable reception and Message Bank.
“The Association would also like to congratulate the National Farmers’ Federation for the work they’ve done on this issue,” Mr Laurie said.
