Jamie Lyon - St Helen's Rugby League Club - England

We have been contacted by a number of people who would like us to know what he is up to in England here are some of the photos they have taken for us.  The official St Helen's Rugby League Club Site is  http://saints.merseyworld.com here you can find more news about our local.

05/04/05  The latest Report
Jamie was again a shining light on the field for the Saints tough away tie v’s Huddersfield in the Challenge Cup.  It seemed the Huddersfield forwards were targeting Jamie as the man to watch as every time he had the ball there was 3 and 4 around him constantly.

Saints found themselves 18-8 down though at one point in the second half until Jamie Lyon along with Darren Albert, Vinnie Anderson and Keiron Cunningham turned on the style.  A quite sublime pass from Wilkin to Lyon in the second half led to the centre sprinting down the right of the field before releasing a perfect timed pass to release Alvert in to score.

There was a fair few players missing for the Saints today but with Jamie Lyon back in the team the right hand side of the field looked strong again with Jamie continuing his brilliant partnership with Darren Alvert.  Jamie finished the game with a personal tally of 10 points from a possible 12 from the boot.

Final Score
Huddersfield 22 – 26 St Helens

This is what the club stats say

Jamie has signed a two-year deal with Saints, and his arrival is one of the most eagerly-anticipated in Super League. He played for Parramatta in the Australian Grand Final and gained full international honours for the Kangaroos at the age of 19. He is considered by many to be the best strike centre in the world.

This is what the people say
"Hello everybody in Wee Waa this email concerns the arrival of Jamie Lyons to St Helen's.  Myself and my family are from St Helens in the UK and are massive Saints fans.  Since his arrival in superleague over here he has been a marvel to watch at Knowsley RoadI’m just sending this e-mail to tell you thank you from all my family in St Helens for the new prodical son and probably the best Aussie at our club since Mal Meninga and maybe Darren Albert..
I would love to hear from anyone in Wee Waa and would love to have an e-mail pen pal"

"Jamie missed the Saints 34-27 win over Bradford after being taken ill after the narrow 22-20 loss at Wigan on Good Friday, he collapsed in the dressing room after the game due to dehydration as the water was not allowed on the field enough in the second half."  He will hopefully back for the Challenge Cup game away in Huddersfield this Sunday and I will report to you after the game.
