Farm Day
Farm Day began in 2006 as a day of "fun, friendship and understanding.” Importantly, it also develops
urban support for Australian farmers and after last year’s Farm Day, 98 per cent of participating city
families said they would be more likely to buy Australian products/brands.
More farmers are needed to host city families on their farm this year to help Farm Day succeed in
bridging the urban-rural divide.Farm Day founder Deb Bain has called for more host farm families
across Australia to participate in Farm Day on May 30-31.
“By inviting city families on to our farms, they see first hand how we care for our animals, manage our
land, our water and our business of producing food and fibre. This is a vital process to ensure the
urban population understands the value of Australian agriculture in their lives," Deb said.
To register for Farm Day 2009 or for further information, please log on to www.farmday.com.au or call
1300 36 70 36.
